Sunflower fields bloom throughout the year but most commonly around Christmas North of Brisbane and early May in the scenic rim. Entry fees are between $50-$100 per session.  Jacob's well that charges $100 per half hour for field entry that has dates throughout the year.

Lavender -

Primarily in the winter months, with peaks in July. However, some areas have yearly blooms in patches that can be used creatively all year. The Mt Cotton location is a slightly sloped field; whereas, the scenic rim location has rolling mountains in the background.

The location is best the last hour before sunset. Sweeping cityscape views are incredible. The sun will set over the buildings 30 minutes prior to sunset. Parking is very limited.

 

 

Scenic Rim

Just an hour from Brisbane, the Scenic Rim features sweeping rolling hills, mountain ranges, and open fields. Small country dirt roads wind through open fields, offering clear views across the landscape. There is a flower farm that also offers a variety of crops throughout the year including pink and white daisies, yellow canola, pink cosmos, golden wheat. The Moogerah Dam is a great location too.

Sherwood Arboretum is a riverside park in Brisbane known for its towering fig trees, wide grassy lawns, and peaceful walking paths. The arboretum features shaded groves, open spaces perfect for kids to run and play, and a scenic boardwalk along the river. With a mix of natural backdrops—lush greenery, water views, and tree-lined avenues—it’s an ideal setting for relaxed family photography.

Underwood Park is great in the early morning or late evening. The lagoon area is surrounded by paperbark trees that reflect golden light. Nearby, closer to the entry the duck pond area includes a rustic wooden fence landing that provides a setting—ideal for families with small children as well as larger extended family portraits. The open spaces and varied scenery make this park a versatile choice.

About three hours from Brisbane, Stanthorpe’s Christmas tree farm offers neat rows of fragrant evergreens — a festive, rustic backdrop for your session. You can also take home your own Christmas tree.

Great anytime of the day for lighting. Easiest in the morning and late afternoon, but also okay mid-day.

There are a variety of great beaches we love to frequent for portraits. Currumbin Rock, Elephant Rock, Froggy Beach, Currumbin Creek Northside Beach, Fingal Head Beach (lighthouse) to name a few.

There are a variety of great islands we love to frequent for portraits. Stradbroke Island ($200-250 ferry), Coochiemudlo ($10 or less ferry), Bribie (tolls only) to list a few.

 

powerhouse - New Farm Park

This location is great first thing in the morning (think 7am). Virtually people free and urban settings like brick walls as well as the green lawns of New Farm Park.

 

River front - brisbane cbd

A great spot early in the morning on a weekend day. Approx. $25 parking.

 

City botanical Gardens

Incredible location at sunrise. Also nice at sunset, but there are more people around and parking is harder at sunset.
