Some wedding days don’t go to plan—and end up being even more magical because of it. Loysh and Mike’s wedding was exactly that kind of day. Their celebration began at the breathtaking Summergrove Estate, nestled in the hills with sweeping views that usually stretch all the way to the coastline. But on this particular day, the skies were heavy, the air was thick with mist, and rain quietly rolled in and out. No matter though as all guests and ceremony were dry inside the chapel onsite with a floor to ceiling window of the hillsides.
Afterward, we made our way toward the coast for wedding party portraits at Norries Headland Boardwalk. The weather hadn’t improved much—grey skies lingered, and the ocean blended almost seamlessly into the horizon. It was moody, windswept, and honestly, incredibly beautiful in its own way. But then… just as the day felt like it would stay wrapped in soft grey tones, the sky surprised us. For a fleeting ten minutes, just before sunset, the clouds broke open to reveal the most incredible cotton candy pink sky. Soft blush tones painted across the horizon, reflecting off the water and wrapping Loysh and Mike in the kind of light photographers dream about. It was brief, unexpected, and absolutely unforgettable—a perfect reminder that sometimes the best moments come when you least expect them.
The celebration continued at Babalou Wedding & Events, where the night was filled with laughter, love, and an unforgettable dance floor. Loysh and Mike—thank you for trusting us, for embracing the unexpected, and for showing that love doesn’t need perfect weather to shine.
